From the French Riviera resorts of Nice and Cannes to the mountains of the Alps, the Alpes-Maritimes is one of the most diverse and beautiful departments in France. This region continues to enthrall travellers with its quality food and wine; is a cycling mecca and home to many professionals such as Chris Froome and Richie Porte. There is so much to see and do in this region and we know you have limited time so our expert Cycling Tour operator, SEARCHTRAVEL have curated the best of the Alpes Maritimes into this one holiday.

Located in the hinterland, Vence is an ideal place to base ourselves with superb accommodation and easy access to the Alps and the French Riviera. We will meet over a drink (Aperitif) before dinner to plan for tomorrow (this is a daily ritual) and then head into the hotel restaurant for a group dinner with all the guests and staff.

Day 4

We have a recovery ride planned for today which includes a stop in Cagnes sur Mer to enjoy some of the local pastries and of course do some people watching. Day 5

It is our last full day so we have designed a couple of routes to leave a lasting imprint on your cycling memory of this gorgeous area. The Enthusiast ride rolls through the Pre-Alps but we have a short gravel section to challenge you. Don’t worry, our guide will get you through with some of the finer points of climbing and descending on gravel. The Advanced group will be challenged with over 6,000 feet of climbing as they skirt the Summit du Cherion along little used stone-walled roads  through some of the most rugged terrain in the whole of France.
